WKNDing in Highlands!

Highlands is such a beautiful place to visit year round, but we especially love it in the fall. We wanted to share with y’all some of our favorite spots in this incredible mountain town and also give you the opportunity to show off your WKND WYFR bags.

As far as hotels come, Old Edwards Inn is by far the best hotel in the area. Not only do they have the most amazing rooms, but they also have multiple fine dining options, an incredible spa, golf for the men, and a few great shops to explore. One of the best parts about Highlands is you won’t need to pack much, so our SKI WKND Traveler Bag is the perfect companion for this trip.

Highlands has so many great restaurant options, but one of our favorite places to get brunch is at The Ugly Dog Pub. The menu includes a very wide range of options so everyone in your group is guaranteed to find something they’ll enjoy. Not to mention, they also serve some of the best cocktails. Not only is the menu incredible, but the Ugly Dog is such a fun atmosphere you’ll want to “come, sit, stay” there all day.

To carry you into the night, one of our favorite dining spots outside of Old Edwards is Wild Thyme. This restaurant has an incredibly unique menu that comes along with a very extensive wine list. There is seasonal dining outdoors, but the indoor dining is just as fabulous. We think our sweater weather clutch would be the perfect accessory to this wonderful dining experience.

If you’re looking for a fun day activity, just walking around the town of Highlands is the perfect, small town experience. Even though we have our recommendations, there are so many great places to eat, drink, shop, but it’s also a great place to walk around and explore this quaint town. While you’re exploring, you can show off your Whoa Nelly tote and be sure to receive some compliments.

Another great activity to take advantage of while you’re in the mountains is going for a hike. If you’re unsure of where to go, the concierge at Old Edwards Inn has great recommendations for so many beautiful trails. Whether you’re looking for a long and challenging hike, or a laid back short one with great views, there are so many options to choose from. We especially love Whiteside Mountain. It’s not too hard and has the most incredible views!

Once you’re done with your daily activities of exploring hiking or eating, it’s time to treat yourself at the Old Edwards Inn Spa. With everything from massages to acupuncture, their extensive spa menu has incredible treatments that will leave you wanting more.

These are all our favorite spots, but there are so many more great places to see and activities to do while you’re in Highlands. Let us know your favorites in the comments below!
